Are you a graduate who is looking for experience in a Secondary School setting? - Then this could be the role for you!

Are you interested in becoming a teacher and thinking about progressing onto a PGCE/Schools Direct course in the future?

As a cover supervisor you will be responsible for leading a full class and delivering pre-set, already planned work. You will gain invaluable experience working with a variety of departments and a range of children aged 11 - 16, providing important support at such a crucial time in their adolescence. You will benefit from gaining skills in classroom management and how to engage students from all backgrounds.

Key highlights of the Cover Supervisor role:

Fulfilling the role as a Cover Supervisor, you will need to be positive, motivated and enthusiastic. The role will suit someone who is passionate about having a positive impact on young people. You will be adaptable to different schools and their individual needs gaining experience across a variety of Secondary Schools in the area.

This experience is the best you will gain, getting a feel for what it is really like teaching within a secondary school. The successful candidate should have some experience working with young adults aged between 11 - 16. This could be in a youth club setting, working within a secondary school or perhaps in the scouts, brownies etc.

  • Secondary school experience in a secondary school located in the Sale/Altrincham area

If you have experience working with young people as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Behaviour Mentor your application is highly encouraged.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
