Teacher of Computing

The School is a popular secondary school in Basingstoke with nearly 1,000 students on roll. The school is oversubscribed and are in a healthy and stable financial position, ensuring they have excellent levels of staffing and resources. This is despite the national issues with funding for schools.
For January, the school are seeking to recruit an dedicated Teacher of Computing and ICT. You will join a well established team who work together to deliver a word class Computing curriculum. You will be required to teach KS3 and KS4 ICT/Computing. It is desirable that you are able to teach the new Computing Curriculum, especially at GCSE level.
The school vision is “to be a vibrant learning community with an ethos of ambition and achievement.” They have high expectations of their students and staff, however expectations are routed through enthusiasm, respect and ambition. To be a successful teacher at this school, you must share their values strive to install them in every young person you come across.
The school will provide you with regular training through our INSET meetings (twice every half term) as well as their whole-school INSET days. They have a collaborative approach to developing teaching and learning. Teachers plan lessons centred on ‘exploratory questions’ with the ambition to:
- Provide a positive climate for learning
- Develop powerful learners
- Deliver adaptive and responsive teaching
- Encourage high challenge
You will also have access to a sponsorship scheme which fully funds MA courses and diplomas from recognised providers. This scheme is available for teaching and support staff to access and many staff have taken advantage of this opportunity.
As a Hampshire school they work closely with other local schools and the local authority. Hampshire officials investing GBP2.5 million in redeveloping two of their buildings and all works were completed on schedule.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
