Classroom Assistant

Are you looking to work regularly in secondary schools? 

If so, Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a number of support staff in the area to provide support to secondary students. 

As the number of absence increases throughout the year in schools, there is more opportunities for work as a Classroom Assistant where you will be tasked with working alongside a member of teaching staff during a lesson and supporting students who need additional help. The work will be delivered by the teacher and classroom assistants will help students breakdown the meaning of the lessons and support with reading and literacy comprehension as well as working through areas of the lesson. A Classroom Assistant's main role is to facilitate learning and help students progress during their studies whilst ensuring students follow the guidelines set out for them by teaching staff, including how they should behave during lessons. 

Teaching Personnel are the market leader in the area and can offer a variety of positions to Classroom Assistants, both on a flexible, temporary basis as well as helping those looking to secure a fixed position working in a single school for an extended period of time. 

Requirements of the role

• Good level of Maths and English (C at GCSE ideally)
• Understanding of requirements of working with young people including being able to effectively communicate
• Ability to travel around Oldham, either via public transport or with access to own vehicle
• Previous experience working with young people in some capacity, including Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Sports Coach and similar

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
