Autism Teaching Assistants required in Burnley Special School - Long term /Ad hoc

A lovely SEN School in Burnley are looking for long term and ad-hoc Teaching Assistants for after Easter due to new student referrals. The successful Teaching assistants will have an advantage if they have Team- teach training, however the successful Teaching assistants will most importantly have the right attitude; be pro active, taking initiative, being flexible and ultimately have a passion to work with children with Autism.

Working as a Teaching Assistant here, you will be required to support the students within the classroom settings on a 1:1 basis being committed to supporting their academic development in a interactive, nurturing manner.

The suitable candidates will have the following:

  • Experience with children with: Autism, SEN and/or educational environments
  • Passion to work with children with Autism
  • Enthusiastic personality
  • Any relevant experience with PECS and Makaton
  • Immediate start date available in April (Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm)

The school are looking for Teaching Assistants who have a passion to support students on the Autistic Spectrum and will be able to reflect school vision and values. This opportunity will be an amazing start for anybody who wishes to pursue a rewarding career within SEN schools.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
