Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for day to day supply or long term work in September? Our Specialist SEN branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a number of special schools throughout Cardiff, Gwent and the Vale of Glamorgan area's to recruit Behavioural Support Teaching Assistants who will provide educational support to pupils of Primary and Secondary school age with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD) and Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) within alternative provisions.
The ideal candidate:
- Experience or an interest in supporting challenging behaviour and/or Mental Health difficulties
- Youth Work, Young Offending Experience, Door Supervisors & Prison Officers
- Psychology graduates & Sports Graduates
Our partner schools have a friendly and positive ethos and encourage good behaviour along with a positive attitude to learning with the aim to help pupils overcome their difficulties and for many, these results in them being able to return to mainstream education.
Pupils with SEBD &/or SEMH can display severe challenging behaviour which can include physical and verbal abuse however, the rewards that come with assisting the pupils overcome their difficulties will bring great job satisfaction and sense of achievement. Ideally, the successful candidates will hold a valid Team Teach qualification or be willing to partake in this training. Team Teach will give you the relevant strategies to intervene when responding to challenging issues. This role would suit someone with experience from a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) or a background as a Prison Officer.
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a number of ALN Schools throughout South Wales with varying levels of specialist needs, recruiting Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
