Behaviour Support Assistant

 Bargoed, Caerphilly | Start: September 2025 | Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Monday – Friday | 08:30 – 15:30 | £90 per day

We’re seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive secondary school in Bargoed this September. The school is looking for a dedicated and proactive individual with strong experience supporting students with challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will be confident in taking initiative in the classroom, actively supporting the teacher, and bringing a positive, engaging personality to the role. If you thrive in a supportive environment and have experience working with young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or behavioural challenges, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Role – What You’ll Do:

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with students aged 11–18
  • Support learners with ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and social-emotional needs
  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusion across the classroom
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons across multiple subjects

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour or ALN
  • Confident in using positive behaviour management techniques
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Background in education, youth work, psychology, or coaching is a plus
  • Strong communication and team-working skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
