SEMH Support Assistant

Do you come from a background in Youth Work, Social Work, supporting disadvantaged communities, or sports coaching?
A primary school in Blackpool is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a mainstream KS2 classroom. This friendly two-form-entry school has a long-term vacancy starting immediately after the summer break.
The role involves working one-to-one with a KS2 pupil who has significant SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and behavioral needs that impact their ability to engage academically and socially in a group setting. The ideal candidate will have experience managing challenging behavior, with PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) experience being highly desirable.

The successful candidate will provide direct support to the pupil, aiming to proactively manage and de-escalate potential behavioral challenges. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
