We’re looking for a Strong Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Bargoed this September. This is a hands-on, full-time opportunity to be a positive role model for students aged 11–18 who need guidance, structure, and encouragement in the classroom and beyond.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Behavioural support or special education

You’ll need:

  • A calm, confident, and patient approach
  • A good sense of humour and resilience
  • Strong communication and boundary-setting skills
  • The ability to motivate and de-escalate challenging behaviour

What You’ll Be Doing:

As part of a tight-knit team, you'll:

  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, particularly those with:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

    • Emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Help deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects
  • Lead and encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and focus
  • Bring structure and motivation to students who need a strong role model

Why This Role?

  • Fixed hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:30 — ideal for a consistent routine
  • Active and engaging – no two days are the same
  • Make a real difference: Help students develop discipline, respect, and self-belief
  • Career progression: Access to training and pathways into education, behaviour mentoring, or even teaching

Ongoing Training & Development:

We invest in your growth from day one, with full training including:

  • Level 2 Safeguarding & Child Protection
  • Positive Behaviour Management
  • The Thrive Approach & SEND Diploma
  • Progression routes like:
    • TeamTeach certification
    • Cover Supervisor qualification
    • Advanced SEND support training

The School:

You’ll join a diverse and driven school community that values resilience, effort, and ambition. The environment is structured, inclusive, and built to help students succeed—supported by committed staff and strong leadership.
