Role: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Bedminster
Salary: GBP57-65 per day
The Head Teacher and SENCo of an OFSTED rated ‘Good’ school in Bedminster is looking to recruit two behaviour mentors, with one working in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and the other in Key Stage 2 (KS2). This school has an excellent reputation for creating a supportive learning environment for staff and student to thrive and achieve in. As a behaviour mentor you will mainly be working 1:1 both inside and outside the classroom. The children you will be supporting are academically on track but have quite challenging home situations and therefore has social, emotional and mental health issues. This child has Pathological Avoidance Disorder (PAD) and can refuse instruction as well as running away particularly when it comes to certain subjects which can often act as triggers.
The ideal candidate:
- Would be a strong and resilient individual who is experienced with KS1 and KS2 as well as with SEMH or behavioural issues
- Be able to build good relationships with parents, students and staff that you will be working alongside
- Experience of assisting the class teacher with classroom management and delivering 1:1 support
