Autism Specialism Support Assistant required

Job description

Teaching Personnel work closely with a school in Totton that cater for 11-19 year olds with Autism. Alongside their Autism quite often the pupils have other needs such as learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. To manage this the majority of the work is 1:1 or 2:1. The education often takes place offsite in the community as well as in the school so if you can drive and have access to a car this is an advantage.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience working with Autism
  • Comfortable dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Resilience, determination and intiative
  • Able to drive with access to a car, this is ideal but not essential
  • Team Teach training

The school day is longer due to the morning and after school briefing so candidates need to be available 8:45-16:15. They are looking for 2 Support Assistants to start full time from September however they do regular need supply Teaching Assistants. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
