1:1 Teaching Assistant, RC Primary School, Ashington, NE63

  • 1:1 Support Assistant Required to Support a child with ASC on a full time basis

A client school in Ashington, Northumberland (NE63) are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3 with severe ASC. This is a full time position which is due to begin in the new academic year.

This Primary School prides itself on creating a ‘stimulating, caring and supportive environment’ at all times and is looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team.

The ideal candidate will be equipped to deal with challenging behaviours and emotional outbursts. The child has severe ASC so full time 1:1 support is required to ensure the child get the most out of their education. Academically, the child can access learning but needs additional support in targeted areas. It is important the child builds good relationships with the successful Teaching Assistant to ensure that they feel supported at all times.

To be considered for this post, you will:

- Have experience working with ASC

- Have experience dealing with challenging behaviours

- Be looking for a full time SEN Support role with the potential for a permanent role

The school can offer the right candidate the chance to work on to a school based contract. Continual support will be offered to the successful candidate from the schools SENCO and SLT.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
