Are you a Sports Graduate or someone who regularly plays sport?

Do you have or are you seeking experience working in a secondary school?

Are you available on a full-time basis?

We are looking to recruit 1:1 Learning Mentors

I am working on behalf of an Alternative Provision, in the Launceston, North Cornwall area. To support a secondary age pupil on a 1:1 basis. Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Sports Coaches/ Cover Supervisors who are keen to work in school and cover a range of lessons, whilst working with a pupil. You will support the pupil to follow the national curriculum and engage a pupil on a 1:1 basis that has been temporarily excluded from a mainstream provision. The school are keen to secure Sports Coaches or candidates who are confident with sports, as they often have PE lessons on the timetable which may need covering.

This is a small school and has a person centred focus. The incoming candidate should expect to cover a range of lessons throughout KS3/4 across the curriculum. Duties will include:

- Ensuring students are getting on with the work set by the class teacher

- Managing behaviour of the students in the classroom (maintaining low level disruption)

- Elements of outreach and taking the pupil out for sessions would be expected

- Full training will be provided with a detailed induction

You should be able to make it into school for 08:30am each morning, unless stated otherwise by someone in school. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are considering a future career in education or an experienced Sports Coach/ Cover Supervisor seeking additional work.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
