Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work within one of our Sheffield schools to start in the new academic year.

The ideal candidate would have prior experience working on a 1:1 basis with a child who displays challenging behaviour. Responsibilities include supporting the child to complete work set by the class Teacher, managing behaviour and having the ability to effectively communicate with the pupil to successfully engage with and build an excellent rapport. The Behaviour Support Assistant must work well in a team in order to liaise with both the class Teacher and the pupil's parents.

The Behaviour Support Assistant would have a patient and nurturing approach, with the ability to effectively deescalate volatile situations. A Team Teach qualification is beneficial, but not essential.

Teaching Personnel are seeking:

  • A candidate who has experience working with individuals who display challenging behaviour
  • A Behaviour Support Assistant with experience in KS1/2
  • A Behaviour Support Assistant who has supported on both a 1:1 and classroom based setting
