- Knowledge of Letters and Sounds or Read Write inc. Phonics Schemes essential for this role and experience of phonics screening process
- Long term job opportunity between £80-120 per day depending on experience
- Classroom based experience and references from within the last 12 months in Key Stage 1 are essential for this role
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a client school that are looking to recruit a KS1 Teacher to start as soon as possible. The school is a smaller than average, Primary school based in Sefton. The school have a teacher going off on maternity leave and have a need for a Year 1 Teacher.
It was graded ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted report and by the end of Year 2, standards in mathematics are high and in reading and writing are around the national average. Pupils’ progress in Phonics is not at the standard it should be and something the Headteacher is looking to improve. Teaching is consistently good across the school, with some that is outstanding.
The Year 1 class consists of 26 pupils from varying backgrounds and mixed ability. There are 3 pupils in the class with additional needs however; there is 1 Teaching Assistant in place to offer support and guidance throughout the placement. The school are looking for someone with experience working in Key Stage 1 within the last 6 months.
