A Primary School in Coventry requires a Year 1 Teacher. The applying candidates must have QTS and recent experience in Key Stage 1. Due to maternity cover the school wants to appoint a full time teacher in Year 1. You will be expected to contribute to the wider School Community by leading an after school club, attending INSETs and staff meetings.
The children tend to arrive from challenging backgrounds and so the entry level is lower than National Average particularly for Maths, Reading and Writing. The School do have a strong and consistent behaviour policy which is used effectively to ensure all the children work to their potential and no disruptive behaviour can affect this. The School is currently on an upward journey after implementing recent feedback received from Ofsted, such as recruiting additional teaching assistants to help support the needs of the children. In the class there is a full time Teaching Assistant who will also lead interventions when required.
