Year 1 Teacher
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Requirements for the role:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Experience teaching in KS2
- Able to travel to Chatham (ME4)
- Available full-time immediately
A client school has contacted Teaching Personnel as they are in search of a Year 5 teacher until the end of the academic year. If you satisfy all the requirements of the role that are laid out above, then please read on to get all the details!
As it is maternity cover the role lasts until the end of term in July 2020, but it is highly likely that the school would try and make the appointment permanent in some capacity provided that the candidate gets on well at the school. The role will be full-time with PPA time allocated as per any class teacher role. The school is 2 form entry and rated as GOOD by Ofsted in their most recent inspection in 2015. The head has been at the school for 5 years and has maintained a strong staff and consistent results in that time. This means that the school is a pleasant environment to work in as the staff know the school well and understand the needs of the children. Also, as the school is 2 form entry, a lot of support will be provided by the other year 1 class teacher who is one of the members of staff who has worked at the school for many years, primarily in that year group.
The role:
The school primarily want a teacher with an energetic and engaging classroom presence, who can keep the class focussed and concentrated on the task at hand. Behaviour at the school is largely good, and the SLT believe this is because an upbeat and energetic classroom presence is the most effective means of keeping their behaviour under control. Experience with teaching SEN children is also important as there are two ASC children in the class in question. This means that prior experience of teaching SEN, and particularly ASC children, would be appreciated by the school. Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum is also extremely important for the school. SLT are happy to consider NQTs for the role provided that they have previously taught in KS1, and are willing to sign off on NQT induction terms should they find the right candidate for the role.
To apply:
If you fulfil the requirements for this role, then we invite you to apply by sending an up-to-date CV detailing your previous roles and the responsibilities that came with them. The head wants to organise trial days and interviews as soon as possible to see the candidates up close. We will liaise with the school to organise these interviews and trials.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training.
