Job description

Teaching Assistant 

 

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team from January 2026. This role involves supporting pupils across all ages and a wide range of needs, working closely with teaching staff to provide an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils individually and in small groups across different age ranges

  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation

  • Supporting pupils with additional, behavioural, and learning needs

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive setting

 

About the Role:

  • Start date: January 2026

  • Hours: Full-time (job share considered)

  • A walk-around of the setting can be arranged prior to appointment

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Patient, adaptable, and compassionate

  • Comfortable working with pupils of varying ages and abilities

  • Able to work well as part of a team

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
