Textiles Teacher
Job description
A mainstream secondary school in Christchurch, Dorset is seeking a Textiles Teacher to join their Design & Technology department from February 2026 on a long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and creative teacher to deliver engaging Textiles lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a supportive and well-resourced school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing pupil progress, and contributing positively to the wider department.
The school has a strong focus on student engagement and practical learning, with modern facilities and a collaborative staff team. They are keen to appoint a teacher who can inspire students, encourage creativity, and maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
The ideal candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Have experience teaching Textiles at KS3 and KS4
-
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
-
Be enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to student progress

Be able to commit to a long-term placement from February
This role would suit both experienced teachers and confident Early Career Teachers with a strong subject knowledge in Textiles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
