Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant
Job description
Do you have a Team Teach qualification? If so, read on!
Opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people
Opportunity to support challenging young people who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion
Teaching Personnel is recruiting for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants with a Team Teach qualification. Team Teach is a specific qualification which teaches you how to positively manage challenging behaviour. The aim of Team Teach is to promote de-escalation strategies and to teach a range of positive handling strategies including guiding, escorting and restraint techniques appropriate for children and young people.
We are working alongside a group of specialist provisions in Peterborough who are expanding their staffing team for the remainder of the academic year. The provisions support students of both primary and secondary age who aren’t in mainstream education and you will be required to work on a small group and 1:1 basis with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This role will include occasionally supporting students who can sometimes be challenging on a physical level, therefore the setting are seeking those who are experienced, passionate and trained in Team Teach. Some pupils may have Autism therefore having experience in this area or a close personal connection to Autism would be beneficial but not essential.
Prior experience working in a PRU, secure unit, young offenders institute is desired, but applications are also welcome from those from other challenging backgrounds who might have undertaken the relevant training with a view to working with young children (e.g. the army).
The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to trial the role before joining the schools passionate team, with the role starting via the agency before then moving into a direct contract with the school group.
If you’re passionate about supporting children from challenging backgrounds and this sounds like the kind of rewarding, challenging role for you, then apply ASAP via the links provided!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
