Teaching Assistants

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a team of flexible teaching assistants that are seeking work in the new academic year in the Wigan LEA.

Due to the increased demand for flexible support and teaching assistants staff in Wigan next academic year, Teaching Personnel wish to hear from Graduates, aspiring teachers and experienced teaching assistants that are available on an ad-hoc, full time or part time basis.

  • Teaching Assistant - Full time, part time, and flexible ad-hoc positions available
  • Gain invaluable experience in a number of Secondary schools and Academies within the Wigan LEA
  • Supporting pupils across Key Stage Three and GCSE, working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Possibility to earn up to £1000-1200 per month
  • Previous experience within a Secondary school setting is preferred however not essential

With the nature of the work that you will be doing, there will be a number of opportunities available for teaching assistants. Teaching Personnel will be able to offer regular teaching assistant work on a daily, short term and flexible basis covering staff absences or assisting with short term intervention needs.

  • You will be assisting the teacher in class helping them manage behaviour of students
  • Covering lessons with pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher
  • You will lead small intervention sessions with students that are behind in work.
  • Working alongside pupils on 1:1 basis
  • Receive complete support from senior members of staff and heads of department
