Teaching Assistant role in Llanelli Secondary school

We are recruiting for a teaching assistant for a Secondary school in Llanelli. The role involves working within the mainstream classrooms supporting students with additional learning needs including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. The role would be a mixture of working on a 1:1 and small group basis. The priorities are to ensure that all children are concentrating and on track in lessons, helping them reach their full learning potential.

The role starts immediately and is guaranteed until the end of the school year possibly longer.

Key responsibilites:

- Supporting students with additional learning needs

- Building and maintaining positive relationships with the students

- Assisting in lessons and at break times, ensuring behaviour is well managed

- Playing a key role in the positive learning of the students

- Working with all age groups KS3, 4 and KS5

- Being part of the school staff team ensuring that students are engaged well in lessons
