Job description

There are multiple part time positions for Teaching Assistants commencing as soon as possible and running until the end of the academic year. This particular role will involve working under the guidance of the Classroom Teacher to support pupils with PMLD in reaching their full potential.

This Setting is a small Secondary Special Needs School situated in Tameside.This particular setting currently has 75 pupils enrolled and provides education for pupils 11- 16 who has a range of needs which may include: complex learning difficulties, Autism and Down syndrome. The pupils who attend this Setting have a wide range of SEN needs so Teaching Assistants who have knowledge of SEN and experience supporting pupils with SEN would be desirable.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with SEN in some capacity
  • PEG feeding and medication training
  • Experience undertaking all aspects of personal care
  • Moving and handling training
  • A passion for supporting pupils with PMLD
