SEN Autism Teaching Assistant

Main duties will include:

• Managing behaviour confidently and in-line with school policies
• Building excellent relationships and rapport with students
• Taking initiative to engage pupils during lesson time
• Working on a 1-to-1 and group/general basis
• Assisting the teacher with class preparation, as and when required

Person Specification:

• A minimum of GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above
• Full UK Driving License and Own Transport
• Experience of working with children in paid or voluntary employment
• Some knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs)
• Professional or personal experience of supporting individuals with additional needs and/or challenging behaviour

This is a school-based role, focused on supporting learning and engaging pupils with challenging behaviour (ADHD, ADD, ASC).

Pay: GBP10 per hour  

Contract Type: Temporary, but with the opportunity to become permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 3.30pm (approx.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
