Teaching Assistant

Do you love to work with kids? Have you got a passion for supporting children to achieve their potential? Do you have classroom experience?

If you answered yes to the above questions, we are currently working with an SEN school who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to help support and nurture the children within the classroom.
The children range from 4-11 years of age and all have moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex needs so require special attention and support whilst at school.
The children at the school have been described as happy, energetic and a joy to be around, so this is a very rewarding albeit challenging role.

Preferably we are looking for Teaching Assistants who have some personal or professional experience working with children who have SEN needs, therefore have some understanding of the requirements of the role as soon as they enter the classroom.
You will mainly support the teacher in class, helping the children to understand the work and managing their behaviour needs. This requires a patient and calm personality to help the students feel less pressurised.

Makaton

PECS

Team-Teach

Autism Awareness

Moving and Handling

Personal care

Teaching Personnel can provide opportunities for training courses in some of the above areas to registered candidates who want to improve their training and skill set.
