Experienced Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEMH Support – Southampton
Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you seeking a rewarding full-time role where you can make a real difference in a young person’s life?
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Southampton who are looking to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEMH on a full-time basis. The role is to begin as soon as possible and will run on a long-term basis, with the potential to continue into the next academic year.
About the role:

Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Location: Southampton

Start date: ASAP

Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, school hours)

Contract: Temporary to long-term

Setting: Mainstream primary school
The successful candidate will:
-
Have proven experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs
-
Be calm, patient, and resilient with a nurturing approach
-
Be able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
-
Demonstrate a good understanding of behaviour management strategies
-
Be confident supporting learning both inside and outside of the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
