SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (ADHD) – Southampton – Full Time from September
Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next full-time opportunity? Teaching Personnel is currently working closely with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Southampton, who are seeking a dedicated individual to join their team from September.
This role will involve providing 1:1 support to a child in Key Stage 2 who has been diagnosed with ADHD. The ideal candidate will have a calm, consistent approach, with previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs, particularly around behaviour, attention, and emotional regulation.
The role:

Start Date: September 2025

Location: Southampton (easily accessible via public transport)
-
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, term time only

Key responsibilities:
-
Supporting a KS2 pupil with ADHD on a 1:1 basis
-
Helping to implement behaviour strategies and learning interventions
-
Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
-
Promoting a positive learning environment and supporting emotional well-being
-
The ideal candidate will:
-
Have previous experience working with children with ADHD or similar SEN needs
-
Be proactive, empathetic and resilient
-
Understand how to manage challenging behaviour in a nurturing and structured way
-
Be confident working as part of a wider school team
-
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
