Job description

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and a desire to gain hands-on classroom experience before embarking on a teaching career? Teaching Personnel is proud to be working with an outstanding primary school in Gorton that is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and committed individual to join their team from September.

This is a full-time role (8:30am–3:30pm) supporting a Year 4 class, ideal for anyone considering a future in teaching or child development. You’ll work closely with experienced educators to assist in delivering both core and foundation subjects, gaining practical insight into classroom dynamics and pupil progress.

  • A recent graduate eager to gain school-based experience.
  • Relevant experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, youth work, coaching, childcare).
  • A genuine enthusiasm for education and a commitment to supporting children’s development.
  • Someone who is proactive, dependable, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and build confidence.
  • Assisting with the preparation of resources and classroom displays.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEN and EAL.
  • Helping to create a calm, focused, and positive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
