Graduate Teaching Assistant – Psychology Background

Salary: Up to £100 per day
Contract: Flexible – Full-time or Part-time

A welcoming primary school in Wigan is looking for a motivated graduate to join their team as a Teaching Assistant. This role will give you valuable insight into how children learn and develop, while providing you with the chance to make a real difference to their school experience.

About the Role:

• Support individual pupils and small groups to access learning effectively.
• Help children with their emotional regulation, social interactions, and confidence.
• Contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and families to ensure consistent support.

Who/What We’re Looking For:

• Psychology (or related degree) graduate with a strong interest in child development.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive individual who enjoys working with children.
• Someone willing to learn and adapt to meet the needs of different learners.
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Previous experience with young people is an advantage but not essential.
