SEND Teaching Assistant – ADHD & Behaviour Support (Wigan)

We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with ADHD and additional behavioural needs in a Wigan primary school. This role will involve supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to stay engaged in lessons and manage their behaviour effectively throughout the school day.

You will support the implementation of behaviour strategies, assist with emotional regulation, and help create a structured and positive learning environment. The role will also involve working closely with teaching staff to adapt activities and ensure pupils can access the curriculum at an appropriate level.

This position is due to begin in October 2026 and will be full-time, with the potential to continue for the full academic year.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing behaviour, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils. A proactive and resilient approach is essential, as well as confidence in supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
