A Partner Primary SEN School in the heart of Farnworth, Bolton are looking to recruit for after Easter. They are looking for Teaching Assistants who have experience in supporting young people who have Autism (ASC). As a Teaching Assistant you would be required to support the pupils in the classroom, helping them concentrate on work and making sure that noise levels are kept to a minimum. The teaching assistant role will be working with children that have various conditions that are aged between the years of 2-11.The school is graded Ofsted 'Outstanding' specialist school that caters for pupils with various difficulties and challenging behaviours. A large number of the pupils suffer from Autistic spectrum condition, which requires the school to have work in small class rooms with a number of experienced staff, and have numerous sensory rooms.
Desirable skills and qualifications that might help the Teaching Assistants be considered for the role:
- Previous Experience in a school
- Previous Experience in similar settings
- Autism Awareness
- Team-Teach Training
- Use of PEC's
The schools is located in a ideal location for individual’s who drive but also who get public transport as there are bus routes that go straight to the school. If you are travelling from local areas such as Bury, Salford or Wigan then you should easily be able to access the school. The school does have on site parking for individuals with cars or bikes.
The school also supports young children with a variety of needs, so you may come into contact with children with Severe Learning Difficulties and with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. If you believe that you have a nurturing and caring background then you will fit into the schools ethos of helping and supporting all children with additional needs who need extra support.
