Job description

Do you thrive in diverse and dynamic educational environments? We're seeking dedicated Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team and support students in mainstream schools.

At Teaching Personnel we believe that every child deserves access to quality education and support tailored to their individual needs. As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that students with SEN receive the attention, encouragement, and assistance they require to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, assisting with academic tasks, social interactions, and personal development.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other staff members to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including parents and caregivers.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEN in an educational setting, preferably in mainstream schools.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions, learning styles, and behavioral strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN-specific training) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
