If the answer is YES, then we may just have the perfect role for you as a Teaching Assistant within the Johnstown area.
What will the role involve?
- Provide one-on-one support to pupils with behavioural challenges (Primary Age)
- Going into the community with pupils to promote independent living and life skills.
- Getting involved in physical and practical activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised behaviour plans.
- Encourage and motivate students to reach their academic and behavioural goals.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a valid driving licence with access to own vehicle.
- Not be phased by high tariff behavioural difficulties.
- Have a keen interest in physical activities and will be confident in taking pupils outside to engage them in physical activities.
- Experience of supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviour.
- Excellent knowledge of Autism.
- Be able to provide a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.
- Be registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Be registered (or willing to register) with the DBS and DBS Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
