Teaching Assistant - Hudderfield

An alternative provision in Huddersfield is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to join their team. This is a long term role, on a temporary, fixed term basis in the first instance, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff subject to the candidates success in the role. You must have Team Teach, MAPA or an equivalent qualification in order to effectively deescalate challenging behaviour.
The setting provides alternative education and accredited youth work initiatives to those young people who struggle to achieve in more conventional settings. They offer a holistic experience which considers every young person as a unique individual with unique needs and unique potential.
The School boasts two sites in close proximity, giving students the opportunity to study Animal Care, Construction and Land Based Studies at the City Farm, and Music Technology and vocational learning at the Young People's 'Club' site. The provision is based in the heart of Huddersfield, easily accessible by car and public transport from the surrounding areas.
The provision currently offers 110 full time places with Alternative Provider status (Students remain on formal school roll) and the learners are placed within the school on full and/or part time basis. Learners are from key stages 3, 4 and 5.
You will be required to support a broad and balanced curriculum, highly differentiated to incorporate the needs of pupils. You must be resilient, able to effectively manage pupil behaviour and responsive to the individual needs of pupils.
As a registered candidate with Teaching Personnel, you will have access to the following:
* A dedicated consultant with a wealth of experience within the education sector
* Access to training with Leeds Trinity University including Effective Behaviour Management
* 'Recommend a Friend' bonus scheme
