Teaching Assistant - ASC - Gateshead

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a Secondary School in Gateshead, to recruit a passionate Classroom Support Assistant to work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), working on a full time basis, to begin in September 2019.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working with students in Key Stages 3 and 4accompanied by a Teacher. You will be working with children and young people on a 1:1 basis who struggle to engage with learning in a classroom environment. The successful candidate will be passionate and ready to work alongside students that may sometimes experience challenging behaviour, and therefore should feel confident in this environment.

The ideal candidate will:

-          Support implementation of strategies to manage behaviour

-          Record and report the students progress to the teacher and parents

-          Establish and maintain relationships with the children and other staff

-          Be reliable, passionate and personable

-          Have some ASC experience working with young people

Teaching Personnel can offer the successful ASC Classroom Assistant competitive pay rates of GBP57-GBP65 per day, however long term rates can be negotiated on your behalf.
