Are you a primary school teacher looking for a challenge?

Do you have sound Maths knowledge to year 6 SATs level?

I have the perfect opportunity for a part time teacher to work just one day a week at a primary school based near Kidbrooke. The school has a specialist provision for children with challenging behaviour, and they are looking for a teacher who thrives on working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds, who display challenging behaviour.

The role available:

  • One day a week - Tuesdays
  • Teach a year 2 class in the mornings and teach a year 6 class in the afternoons
  • Focus on SATs preparation - specialising in Maths
  • Some of the planning and preparation will be done for you - there will be room for your own input too though
  • There are currently only three students in the year 2 class, and there are currently only five students in the year 6 class
  • You will have the support of one TA in the year 2 class, and two TAs in the year 6 class

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience of teaching primary to year 6 SATs level
  • A good understanding of where behavioural difficulties can come from and how to manage challenging behaviour
  • Able to start at 08:30am and finish at 15:30pm
  • Ability to do some of the planning and preparation, including supplying resources
  • Ability to work collaboratively and use the expertise of the TAs who will be supporting you

The benefits:

  • This position is for just one day a week
  • The children start later at 09:30am and finish earlier at 15:00pm
  • Teach a small number of children in each class so you will really be able to engage with each child
  • Have the support of teaching assistants, the Head of the provision as well as special administrative staff in the provision
  • Pay rate is dependent on experience and is between £120 - £150 per day

The school is looking to appoint someone to take over teaching these classes after the February half term, so your first day would be Tuesday 26th February 2019.

Send your CV for consideration today if you are interested in this role.
