SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-established and highly supportive education setting in Poole.
This is a full-time, term-time only position with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to work across both primary and secondary phases.
You will be supporting children and young people aged 2 to 18 in an environment that places inclusion, wellbeing and individual progress at the centre of everything it does.

The Role
You will work from 8.30am to 5pm during the school day, supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom.
Your role will involve working closely with teachers and other professionals to help pupils access learning, follow routines and engage positively throughout the day.
Pupils have a wide range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH and associated learning needs.
Support is tailored to the individual, with pupils receiving one-to-one and small group support to help them manage learning, communication and emotional regulation.
Essential Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of six months’ childcare experience, with particular emphasis on supporting children or young people with SEN needs.
A patient, understanding and resilient approach is essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Pay and Benefits
The pay rate for this role is £13.75 per hour and the position is term-time only.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
