We are looking for a resilient and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and highly supportive education setting in Poole.
This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to work across both primary and secondary phases.
You will be supporting children and young people aged 2 to 19 within a setting that prioritises emotional wellbeing, positive relationships and individual progress.

Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, structured and engaging environment where pupils feel safe, understood and supported. The school is well resourced and places real value on the dedication and professionalism of its support staff.
The Role
The working day is 8.30am to 5pm. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils throughout the school day, helping them to regulate emotions, engage with learning and build confidence.

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs alongside ASD, communication difficulties and sensory disabilities

Working with learners aged 2 to 19 across primary and secondary settings

Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs

Assisting with emotional regulation, behaviour strategies and daily routines

Building strong, trusting relationships that support positive outcomes
Essential Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of six months’ childcare experience, with particular experience supporting children or young people with SEN needs.
A calm, patient and consistent approach is essential, along with the ability to adapt to different learning and behavioural needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
