Teacher Key stage 3 (Nurture base) - September 2019 - Oldham

A Special School situated in Oldham are currently looking to recruit a Key stage 3 Teacher for a September 2019 start. The position commences in September 2019 and is a long term position at least until the end of the year and may potentially lead to a permanent role.

The Setting is an outstanding Multi Academy Trust which runs across 4 sites all of which are located in Oldham. Sites cater for pupils between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The role will involve planning and delivering lessons that are designed to support the development of pupils with SEMH. Due to the specific needs of the pupils we would be interested in Teachers who have experience of working with pupils with SEMH needs in some capacity. As a Teacher your role will be to support the development of pupils who are being educated within a nurture base. The pupils who attend the nurture groups have mild - severe ASC and require support developing their self esteem and confidence. Due to the nature of the needs of the pupils who attend the setting it would be ideal for the teacher to have professional or professional experience working with ASC.

The ideal Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (essential)
  • Team-Teach training (desirable can be provided)
  • Experience working with pupils with ASC in some capacity
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with pupils, school support staff and parents
  • A desire to provide education for pupils with ASC
