Support Worker job - Redbridge

We are seeking an exceptional support worker to join a lovely 'Outstanding special school in Redbridge immediately! The purpose built SEN school caters for secondary aged pupils with a wide range of special needs: autism spectrum associated behavioural needs and physical disabilities with great facilities for staff and pupils alike. The role would be supporting in a class with pupils who have a statement of severe learning disabilities, most students are non verbal and wheel chair users. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic individual who can provide a stimulating learning environment for pupils in small groups. Moving and handling training is a must to support the transportation of pupils for physiotherapy sessions and toileting needs. This post will be until at least the end of the academic year and a permanent contract may be available from September 2019.

Experience and training required:

  • Previous experience supporting with special needs
  • Moving and handling training completed

Attributes:

  • Able to deliver group and 1:1 support when required
  • Provide support with nappy changing
  • Vibrant personality
  • Commit to 9.20am-3.50pm daily in Redbridge
