Supply Teacher – Sunderland Secondary Schools September 2026 Start | Competitive Daily Rates | All Subjects
Teaching Personnel is recruiting supply teachers across Sunderland for a September 2026 start. Applications are welcome from teachers across all subject areas, provided you hold QTS or are on track to complete your PGCE and gain Qualified Teacher Status.

What the role involves:
- Covering planned and unplanned teacher absences across Sunderland secondary schools
- Delivering pre-set lesson plans or using your own initiative when required
- Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and classroom management
- Building familiarity with local schools and staff over time
- Upholding safeguarding responsibilities in every setting
To be considered:
- QTS or equivalent — or a PGCE nearing completion with QTS on the horizon
- Confidence and adaptability in the classroom
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
