Supply Teachers needed in Portsmouth!
Are you a qualified and passionate secondary teacher seeking flexibility and variety in your teaching career?
Secondary schools across Portsmouth are currently in need of subject-specific supply teachers to provide day-to-day, short-term, and long-term cover. Whether you are an experienced teacher, an ECT, or returning to the classroom, we welcome your application.
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable teachers across a range of subjects, including:

English, Maths, Science

Humanities (History, Geography, RE)

Languages (French, Spanish, German)

Design & Technology, Art, and Music
-
ICT & Computer Science
-
PE, Drama, PSHE, and more
You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of schools, gaining valuable experience while helping maintain consistency and quality in student's education.
Supply teachers are vital to keeping schools running smoothly and ensuring pupils continue to learn and achieve in the absence of their usual teachers. Your expertise and adaptability help create a stable learning environment and support students’ progress during periods of change or staff absence.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and effective lessons in your specialist subject area.

Follow lesson plans or adapt your teaching to meet student needs.

Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Quickly adapt to new school environments and policies.
-
For longer-term assignments, contribute to marking, assessments, and department meetings as required.
Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification.
-
Recent experience teaching at secondary level (KS3 and/or KS4).
-
Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
-
Flexible, reliable, and professional approach to teaching.
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
