Are you a passionate and dedicated English teacher ready to make a difference at short notice?


Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Portsmouth seeking a qualified English Supply Teacher to join their team as soon as possible until the end of the academic year.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4, following the national curriculum.

  • Ensure high-quality teaching and learning in the classroom.

  • Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to support progress.

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policy.

  • Support student's learning and development, fostering a love for English language and literature.

  • Liaise with the English department and senior leadership as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3/KS4).

  • Strong classroom management skills.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to a new school environment.

  • A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
