Are you confident, adaptable, and passionate about supporting students in their learning? A secondary school in Portsmouth are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain classroom experience in a dynamic school environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged and on-task.

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.

  • Support students with their learning, answering questions and providing guidance where needed.

  • Liaise with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning and provide feedback on student progress.

  • Supervise students during break times and assist with other duties as required.

  • Uphold school policies and promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and high expectations.

 

Cover Supervisors play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of education when teachers are unavailable. By ensuring lessons run smoothly and students remain focused, they contribute significantly to the overall success of the school. This role is an excellent stepping stone for those considering a future in teaching or education support.

  • Has experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.

  • Can demonstrate confidence in leading a classroom and managing student behaviour.

  • Has a proactive and positive attitude, with a genuine commitment to supporting student learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
