General Cover Teacher

Location: Middlesbrough

Salary: £155-£250 per day

Start Date: September 2025

We are currently recruiting a General Cover Teachers to work in a variety of secondary schools in Middlesbrough. This is a fantastic role for teachers who enjoy variety, thrive in different classroom settings, and are eager to make a positive impact on students across multiple subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality cover lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular class teacher
• Follow pre-prepared lesson plans to ensure students remain on track with their learning
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive and respectful learning environment
• Support students of all abilities, offering encouragement and assistance where needed
• Mark and provide feedback on students' work, ensuring accurate record-keeping
• Work effectively with school staff to ensure a smooth transition between lessons

About you:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (Essential)
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (Desirable)
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students quickly
• Flexibility, reliability, and a positive approach to new challenges
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to various school environments
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
• Provide at least two professional employment references
