What: Sports Coach Required for a full time role based in a Secondary School as a teaching assistant
Where: Torfaen
When: September Start
The head teacher of a secondary school in Torfaen is looking to recruit a sports coach / teaching assistant to work full time within their school. The school is located off the M4 with good access and public transport links. The school has new state of the art facilities and a brand new sports all weather pitch. You would be joining a highly successful team of teaching assistants that are constantly being up skilled through training provided by the school.
The role:
- Based in the Additional Learning Needs department of the school
- Supporting students aged 12- 15 with special needs or challenging behaviour
- Keeping the students on track with their work and engaged in their learning
- Coaching sports such as football, hockey and rugby to the students when they have their down time as a reward scheme
The ideal sports coach/teaching assistant:
- Experience working in schools is desirable but not essential
- Any experience working with children in a volunteer or coaching setting is considered
- Minimum of core GCSE’s required
The position is to start in September until the end of the academic year as there has been additional funding. The head has assured that there is a school contract available for the next academic year providing you are a suitable candidate.
It is full time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm)
Pay is GBP10 per hour and there is potential for a permanent contract.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
