We are excited to be working alongside a large number of excellent Special Educational Needs schools in North Hampshire to provide fully qualified Teachers who are looking for a full time or part time positions for the new academic year. The schools that we represent pride themselves in providing the highest quality education for children and young adults who are unable to access mainstream education. 

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for improving the learning and development of the students within your class, whilst encouraging positive learning. Managing the class resources and planning your lessons creatively and according to each of their learning plans. You will be expected to lead the teaching and coordination of flexible study programs for designated individuals and groups of pupils with varied learning and complex needs, to include SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health) and challenging behaviour. The role will require teaching across a range of subjects, but will focus on the core topics of Maths, English and Science.

Duties:

  • Plan, deliver and teach individual pupil’s or small groups across a range of subjects
  • Devise, implement and review individual education plans
  • Effectively communicate with outside parties such as parents, healthcare staff, and social workers
  • Positively contribute to the overall programme of learning for each pupil to ensure their progression
  • Ensure all learners are safeguarded, with measures always in place

The successful candidate must hold a UK recognised Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or any similar teaching qualifications such as PGCE with a relevant UK degree. Strong behaviour management and a passion for teaching are also essential for this role. You will also need:

  • Proven experience of teaching children with Special Needs in either a primary or secondary setting
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum and its assessment procedures
  • A confident and enthusiastic outlook 
  • The ability to tailor lesson plans to suit individual learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
