Job description

An SEN school in Portsmouth are looking for a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to assist in supporting their staff and special needs pupils with severe and complex needs. This includes physical and learning difficulties, autistic and non-verbal pupils.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with special needs. They need to be happy to carry out some personal care, so a background in Healthcare would be helpful. There are some non-verbal pupils in attendance, so a qualification or experience in Makaton or PEC's will be beneficial. The Teaching Assistant will also:

- Be able to multitask and have the flexibility to help in a variety of situations.

- Be happy to work in small groups and on a one to one basis.

A typical school day will start at 08:30 and finish at 15:30. The staff are friendly and supportive, and the school has been rated Outstanding in their latest Ofsted report! Those who are interested will be welcome to spend a trial day at the school, upon undergoing a vetting process.
