Senior IT Technician

Senior IT Technician – Northampton Area
Salary: £27,334 – £30,296 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Contract: Permanent
Teaching Personnel are partnering with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton to recruit an experienced Senior IT Technician.
You will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the school’s IT infrastructure, delivering high-quality technical support to staff and students to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Working closely with the Regional IT Manager and a dedicated team, you will oversee the IT helpdesk, resolve technical issues efficiently, and support key systems including Microsoft 365 and hardware across the site.
Key requirements:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT support, ideally in an educational or corporate environment

Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 support and remote troubleshooting

GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C or equivalent)

Excellent communication and customer service skills
Key responsibilities include:

Leading the IT helpdesk, assigning and resolving support tickets

Maintaining hardware and software systems including PCs, laptops, printers, and touchscreen devices

Supporting network infrastructure, user accounts, and ensuring data security

Assisting with training staff and supporting IT-related school systems such as CCTV and door access
-
Collaborating with the wider Creative Education Trust IT teams

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
