Job Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) – Trafford

Location: Trafford, Greater Manchester
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (term time only)
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £80 – £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you want to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey? We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Trafford.

The Role:

As a SEN TA, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays. This may involve:

  • 1:1 support for individual pupils

  • Assisting small group work within the classroom

  • Implementing tailored learning and behaviour strategies

  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and encouraging social interaction

  • Liaising with SENCOs and external specialists

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

✅ Experience working with children with SEN (in school, care, or a similar setting)
✅ A patient, positive, and adaptable attitude
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✅ A commitment to safeguarding and supporting all pupils
✅ Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
