Job description
Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Rochdale area (OL16), who are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team for the Autumn Term of the 2025/2026 academic year.
This rewarding position will involve providing one-to-one support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access the curriculum, engage in learning activities, and thrive within the classroom environment. The school is committed to providing a nurturing learning experience for all pupils, and this role plays a vital part in ensuring every child feels supported and valued.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to a pupil with SEND on a one-to-one basis, both inside and outside the classroom

Assist the class teacher in implementing learning plans and adapting activities to suit the child’s individual needs

Help to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

Support the pupil’s social and emotional development through consistent encouragement and guidance

Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents as appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will:
-
Have previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, ideally in a 1:1 setting

Demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet a range of learning and behavioural needs

Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, able to liaise effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals

Show commitment to the child's well-being, progress, and personal development
-
Be enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about making a positive difference in a child’s life

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
